Anxiety
Occasional worries are a normal part of life. Anxiety can even be a motivating factor at times. For some individuals, however, anxiety is more than a temporary worry or fear and often becomes worse over time. Worries can lead to panic attacks, feeling "stuck," difficulties sleeping or constant racing thoughts that interfere with day to day functioning.  Anxiety can also lead to physical symptoms such as headaches, nausea, abdominal discomfort, shortness of breath, racing heart/palpitations or even chest pain. There are several ways of managing anxiety including stress reduction, lifestyle changes, psychotherapy and if needed medications.   These strategies can help you or your loved one experience meaningful reduction in worries and move forward with improvement in quality of life.
